Function
The sperm is the product of the testes in the Male reproduction system. Thousands are released in sexual intercourse through a substance called semen. When inside the vagina, the sperm swim up to the ova to be fertilized. Once a sperm cell is fertilized, no more can get in because the maximum amount of chromosomes have been reached, Both gametes have exactly 23 chromosomes.
Properties
In order to swim, the sperm cell has a body like a tail that can swerve. If this body is too long or short the sperm cannot be fertilized and is an anomaly.
The head of the cell is where the nucleus is, which stores the DNA. Like the tail, if this part is not exactly proportionate, it disables the male sex cell from being able to fertilize.
Here are all the common anomalies in a sperm cell.
