Filtration
Filtration is used to seperate soluble from insoluble substances.

- Insert filter paper into the funnel in the beaker, within the second beaker, add your mixture.

2. Pour the mixture into the funnel, the insoluble solid will remain on the filter paper

3. Once the mixture is filtered, the solid and liquid are seperated.
There are many forms of filtration, such as with a sieve and water and rocks, the rocks do not fit through the small holes. It is the residue because it remains on the sieve, the water is the filterate because it passes through the sieve to be filtered.
