What is pollination?

In order to pollinate, pollen grains need to be transferred to the stigma There are 2 types of pollination:

Cross pollination: When the anther of one plant is moved to pollen to the stigma of another. Self pollination: pollen from an anther to a stigma on the same plant.

The pollen is taken to the stigma the majority of the time by either wind or insects.
